Louis Basso is the founder of Alcott HR, one of the first Professional Employer Organizations in New York State, he co-established in 1987. Under Lou’s leadership, Alcott grew from a small firm with 35 clients and a few hundred employees into a nationally recognized PEO with hundreds of clients and thousands of employees. He has spent the last 35 years moving the entire PEO industry forward. He has served as president of NAPEO and ESAC, and been appointed by former NYS governor’s to multiple advisory committees on behalf of the industry.
Of Lou’s many accomplishments he has always been most proud of his role as a family man. He resides in Smithtown with his wife Diane and enjoys spending time with his 2 children and 5 grandchildren. At the age of 65, he and Diane completed an Ironman competition in Lake Placid, in a respectable 16 hours. That’s a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile run. Rumor is… they’re training for another one.
