Hossam Maksoud, PharmD is the Chairman and Founder of Community Care Rx, a unique long-term pharmacy that provides comprehensive pharmacy services to assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, OPWDD residential facilities and other long-term-care providers.
Mr. Maksoud holds a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from St. John’s University. In 1993, he established Maksoud Pharm Inc., a chain of independent retail pharmacies in the New York metropolitan area. He then went on to launch Community Care Rx, which is based in Plainview, N.Y., and has offices in Totowa, N.J.
The company, which has more than 150 employees, provides pharmaceutical services throughout the tri-state area and beyond. With Mr. Maksoud at the helm, the organization has the expertise and dedication needed to create personalized experiences for different long term care organizations and facilities.
In recent years, Mr. Maksoud established Orphan Pharmacy Services, which works with the entire healthcare ecosystem to connect patients who have chronic and rare conditions to medication, information, and financial assistance. The company bolstered its specialty pharmacy services with Mr. Maksoud and his team expertise in providing services to patients who have HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, rheumatic disease, osteoporosis, and other conditions.
In 2018, Mr. Maksoud and three partners with diverse skill sets co-founded Dawah Pharmaceuticals Inc. The goal of the company, of which Mr. Maksoud serves as CEO, is to manufacture high-quality products in the sterile injectables and ophthalmology marketplace.
To further assist nonprofits and the individuals, they support, Dr. Maksoud launched The Maksoud Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to provide financial and other supports to organizations that assist seniors and individuals with developmental, intellectual, and psychological disabilities.
In all his endeavors, Mr. Maksoud focuses on providing clients with excellent and dependable customer service.
