JOB TITLE:                                   Peer Specialist, Mobile Residential Support (MRST) Team.

REPORTS TO:                              MRS Team Coordinator

DEPARTMENT:                            Residential Services

CLASSIFICATION:                        Non-Exempt

HOURS:                                        35 Hours

SALARY: $15.38 Hourly

QUALIFICATIONS:                        

Personal experience with individuals with mental health diagnosis.  Understanding of peer support self-help philosophy.  Certification via NYS Peer Specialist Program Preferred.   Clean, valid NY State Driver’s License.  Fingerprinting, criminal record check, approval from NYS Office of Mental Health.                 

JOB FUNCTION:

To provide positive role model of community functioning, informal counseling and peer supports as a team member of a mobile support team providing community based services to assist individuals with psychiatric disabilities successfully maintain housing in the community.
