DEPARTMENT: Clinical Services
HOURS: FT 35 hours per week
Valid NYS Peer Counselor Certification with minimum 3 years of experience providing services to individuals with . Experience within a treatment and rehabilitation setting Valid and clean NY State driver license, fingerprinting, criminal record check, and approval from NYS required.
The Peer Bridger will provide direct services to children, adults, and families enrolled in services within the Wyandanch Clinic. Peer Bridgers will draw upon their own lived experience in mental health and/or substance use recovery to assist clients with a variety of service needs including performing assessments and providing weekly support until a client is assigned a therapist. Additionally, Peer Bridgers are responsible for providing transportation, accompaniment, and advocacy to clients at various appointments with service providers , as well as working collaboratively with a client’s treatment team to provide ongoing support and assistance throughout a client’s duration of care.
