Federation of Organization is seeking a Part-Time Peer Advocate who will report to the Program Supervisor within the Outreach Program at Patchogue.
Salary: $15 per hour
Hours: Part-time (15-19 hours)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Individual must be in recovery from a behavioral health condition. High school diploma or equivalent. Clean valid NYS driver’s license. Peer Certification preferred. Fingerprinting, criminal record check, and all necessary clearances from the Justice Center. Meet all health screening requirements set forth by partner hospital regulations
JOB FUNCTION:
Responsible for representing Federation of Organizations with interfacing agencies at meetings and events. Advocate for the needs of people in recovery from mental illness within the mental health system. Provide peer support, advocacy, education, and information to staff, volunteers, and program members. Facilitate peer support groups at designated hospitals and agency programs.
