JOB TITLE:                          Emergency Rental Assistance Outreach Worker

REPORTS TO:                     Program Manager of Outreach Services

DEPARTMENT:                   Outreach Services

CLASSIFICATION:             Non-exempt             

HOURS:                             35 hours per week. Flexible schedule including some evenings/weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS:             

Minimum High School diploma, Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience in homeless services and resources. Clean N.Y. State Driver’s license.  Fingerprinting, criminal record check and all clearances from the Justice Center.

JOB FUNCTION:  

Responsible to assist people who are at risk of homelessness and are eligible to receive assistance from the New York State Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) through the U. S. Dept. of Treasury. Perform intensive outreach to recruit individuals in the Town of Brookhaven to provide significant economic relief to help low and moderate-income households at risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability by providing assistance with rental arrears through ERAP.  Complete all the necessary documentation to ensure clients are able to receive needed funds.  Assist in completing and submitting application for funds.
