CR/SRO

THE IRVING BERKOWITZ RESIDENCE  

Federation of Organizations operates a 50-bed CR/SRO (Community Residence/Single Room Occupancy) residential facility, located on the grounds of Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in West Brentwood. The Irving Berkowitz Residence is a transitional housing program for Suffolk County residents who are either being discharged from hospitals and in need of housing, or have a history of not having their intensive needs met through traditional housing programs. Many of the residents come to the program with a history of chronic homelessness. The program includes 24-hour staff coverage and intensive individualized rehabilitation services.
