Respite Plus Program

The Respite Plus Program offers families caring for a member who has a mental illness the opportunity to take a break and have some free time. Respite Plus does this by providing a trained respite worker who will spend time with and provide companionship to the individual. There is absolutely no fee for any Respite Plus service. Respite Plus offers companionship and support that fosters an independent lifestyle and an improved quality of life, while giving families peace of mind and a much-needed change of pace.

Available services include
√    Home visits with the individual, allowing the family caregiver to leave the house for a number of hours at a time
√    Overnight stays at a respite apartment, introducing independent living as an option
√    Outings, walks and shopping in the community and a one-on-one relationship opening the door for socialization and independence
