P.O.W.E.R. (Peer Outreach with Evening Recreation)

The P.O.W.E.R. program uses a peer-support, self-help concept to reach out to those who find themselves threatened with homelessness while also struggling with the difficulties of mental illness.

Volunteers, members and staff provide:

√    Direct on-street outreach
√    A place that offers a safe environment where individuals can gather to
      socialize and make new friends
√    Advocacy services
√    Information and referrals to other community resources
√    Informal peer counseling and support
√    Assistance in securing housing
√    On-site food pantry
√    On-site drug and alcohol prevention education
√    Assistance in securing benefits and entitlements
√    Supported employment services
√    Emergency crisis assistance
√    Weekly hot meal program

The goal of the P.O.W.E.R. Program is to help the individual return to the community as a productive, independent person
