Federation of Organizations will serve as Trustee for Supplemental/Special Needs Trusts for disabled individuals. The Supplemental/Special Needs Trust allows an individual to maintain his or her eligibility for SSI and Medicaid benefits while having funds available to pay for items or services not covered under Medicaid or SSI. Additionally, monies from the Trust may be used for payments to third party vendors for items that will improve the quality of life for an individual. For family members these trusts are a valuable tool for estate planning. Also, individuals may establish a Trust with their own funds.
