Supported Employment Program

 

 

The Consumer Affairs Departments offers a Supported Employment Program for individuals recovering from Mental Illness who are ready to engage in meaningful work.  Whether returning to work or just entering the work force we offer a variety of placement sites and programs while focusing on the individual’s skills and strengths.

 

Job placement responsibilities may include:

     ♦   Advocacy

     ♦   Outreach

     ♦   Recreational Activities

     ♦   Individual Counseling

     ♦   Linkage to resources

     ♦   Working with Entitlements

 

Benefits:

     ♦   Receive on the job training in a supported environment

     ♦   Peer Support and self-help are primary focus.  Peer Support groups are available to address

          work related issues and concerns.

     ♦   A Rehabilitation Counselor is available to set individualized work goals

     ♦   Benefits Counseling

Applicants Must Be:

     ♦   Motivated

     ♦   Willing to provide Peer Support

     ♦   Establish work-related goals

     ♦   Act as a team player

     ♦   Willing to assist other people with Mental Illness through their Recovery

     ♦   Able to get to and from work site independently
