SENIOR COMPANION PROGRAM
Senior Companions are volunteers aged 60 or over, who want to help adults with special needs remain independent and to continue to live in their own homes or communities. They provide services to frail older adults, adults with disabilities and those with terminal illnesses. They provide respite for caregivers by assisting their adult clients in basic but essential ways, offering companionship, friendship, and helping with simple chores. Senior Companions themselves receive a modest, tax-free stipend to offset the cost of volunteering.
