Respite Plus Program

The Respite Plus Program offers the opportunity to Suffolk County families caring for a member who was a Mental Illness to take a break and have some free time.  Respite Plus does this by providing a trained Respite worker who will spend time with and provide companionship to the individual.  There is absolutely no fee for any Respite Plus Service. *

Available Services Include:

     ♦   Home visits with the individual, allowing the family caregiver to leave the house for a number of hours

          at a time.

     ♦   Overnight stays at a Respite Apartment introducing independent living as an option.

     ♦   Outings, walks and shopping in the community and a one-on-one relationship, opening the

          door for socialization and independence.

Respite Plus offers companionship and support that fosters and independent lifestyle and improved quality of life, while giving families peace of mind and a much needed change of pace.
