PEER SUPPORT SERVICES
All the core of all our services and programs is peer support. At Federation people recovering from mental illness are working and volunteering within all of our programs. They offer peer support groups at our community centers as well as local hospitals, state run psychiatric centers, adult homes, and other sites. They provide self-help groups including Double Trouble. Through The Advocacy Coalition (TAC) they organize educational forums to help improve the lives of others, as well as help spread the voice of the consumer/survivor movement on the state and local levels. People with personal experience with mental illness run Federation's Drop In programs and play a vital role in our outreach, advocacy, forensics, respite, and peer bridger services. They run employment groups, provide individual support and companionship and offer hope, strength and knowledge. At Federation, we believe recovery is a reality.
